Jerry Bradshaw

Jerry Bradshaw of Tarheel Canine needs little introduction to law enforcement or military K9 personnel in North America, or to Protection Sport Association (PSA) enthusiasts anywhere in the world. Jerry is the founder of PSA, now an international dog sport with many hundreds of enthusiastic competitors. He is also the host of the popular “Controlled Aggression Podcast,” and the author of the well-received book Controlled Aggression and very many articles in law enforcement k9 magazines. Not merely a prominent canine businessman, author, and media brand, Jerry is also a “legit” working dog man with deep credibility in the world of sport and practical working dogs. He has been a competitor in working dog sport since 1991, titling and trialing a number of different dogs, with very many appearances in the PSA Nationals, including four PSA National Championship wins. Through his successful and long-running business, Tarheel Canine in North Carolina, Jerry has provided hundreds of police dogs to law enforcement agencies across the US, and conducted training for hundreds of police officers. In addition, during his 30-year career he taught dozens of seminars for sport, police, and military dog trainers in North America and worldwide, including in Taiwan, China, Australia, the United Kingdom, South Africa, and Brazil. Additionally, his talents and knowledge are frequently sought by the US military, including Army and Navy Special Operations Forces. Jerry is the real deal: a technically gifted and deeply experienced trainer whose canine students can take trophies in sport competition or rule the street in real-world deployment, and an educator who can improve knowledge and skills of both highly experienced dog handlers and those who are new to the craft.
